2010-11 Clearfield County Report
Greetings from Clearfield County. We hope that everyone is having a great school year thus far and that all is well. So far, things seem to be status quo for the most part. Here are some specific items of interest from our “little corner of Heaven”:
CLEARFIELD AREA – Clearfield Area has always had one of the finest and most active music programs around. Choral Director Mel McConnell is currently on medical and we wish him a speedy recovery. Clearfield will be the host site for the PMEA District 4 Band Festival on February 9-12, as they have graciously offered to co-host the Festival with Cindy Penvose and Curwensville High School. Big Thanks to Ray and Cindy!!!!!
CURWENSVILLE – Cindy Penvose and the Golden Tide Band were the host for the Clearfield County Marching Band Festival on Saturday, October 2, where a total of nine Bands had the opportunity to perform their field shows…..Great Job Cindy!!!!!
GLENDALE – No changes in staff at Glendale. They are busily preparing to serve as Host School for the PMEA District 4 Choral Festival on January 12-15.
HARMONY –Director Shane Putorek is busily preparing for the Clearfield County Choral Festival on October 16 and 18.
MOSHANNON VALLEY – Nothing new regarding personnel at Mo Valley. Vocal Instructor Todd Sproull is implementing the Yamaha Corporation MIE system for Music Education which was purchased through the generosity of the Moshannon Valley School District. MIE has been installed and is being used in both the Junior- Senior High School and the Elementary School.
WEST BRANCH – Band Director Jennifer Sproull reports that there have been no changes in the West Branch School District and that things are running smoothly this school year.
We wish all of our colleagues a very successful and rewarding 2010-11 School Year.
