Fulton County Report Fall 2011
Forbes Road
We had one minor staffing change. Our elementary music teacher is now only doing music for half of the day. The rest of her day, she is teaching reading. There was no change in staffing at the high school. She is having her 5th and 6th graders presenting a musical as part of the kick-off event for the new bullying program that we are rolling out this fall. Her 1st and 2nd graders will be presenting a musical this spring. The High School Drama Club and Music Department will be presenting Oklahoma! this spring. This will be the third musical in school history. Forbes Road will also be hosting a Fall Band Festival on November 18th sponsored by the Franklin Fulton County Music Educators Association. Students from Southern Fulton and Fanett-Metal will join students from Forbes in a day of rehearsal and an evening concert.
Central Fulton
We are sad to report the retirement of Instrumental Music Teacher Larry Stepler. His position was not filled. High School Chorus teacher Greg Strine has assumed most of Larry’s former duties. Elementary music teacher Cathy Richards has also taken over the woodwind lessons in the elementary school.
Southern Fulton
No staffing changes to report.
Respectfully submitted,
Ryan Wade
